Kanibarú is a national dance competition celebrated yearly during the Dominican Republic's carnival season. Dance groups from every province compete against each other for the title of “Best Comparsa of the Year”. Each performance celebrates a different aspect of the Dominican cultural heritage with music, choreography and very elaborate costumes.
